Healthy chickens need a solid foundation all year round. A balanced feed forms the base, but with changing conditions, a mixed flock or busy periods, small deficiencies arise easily. And during the autumn moult the bar is raised further: growing new feathers demands a great deal from your birds. With a considered approach, you support your chickens at both moments.

Do my chickens need extra vitamins?

Even healthy chickens benefit from a vitamin top-up, especially during stress, warm weather, after a treatment or while in lay. A creeping vitamin A shortfall in particular often goes unnoticed, while it undermines overall resistance and condition. A weekly supplement helps catch such a shortfall before it makes itself felt.

Vita-Plus is a water-soluble multivitamin containing all the essential vitamins, including vitamins A, D3, E, K and the B group. It supports the general daily health of your chickens.

• Maintenance. 2 ml/l of drinking water, 1 to 2 days a week, all year round.
• After illness or recovery. 2 ml/l of drinking water, 3 to 5 consecutive days.

Why do my chickens look so rough during the moult?

In autumn your chickens shed their old plumage and grow new feathers. Feathers consist largely of keratin, a protein built from amino acids such as methionine and lysine. During the moult, much of the bird's energy shifts towards growing new feathers, which is why laying often drops and overall condition dips temporarily. With the right building blocks, the moult runs more smoothly and your chickens recover faster.

Targeted support during the moult

For a smooth moult, combine two products that complement each other:

• Aminovital. Supplies all the essential amino acids, plus vitamin E, selenium and electrolytes. It supports feather development and recovery.
• Condi-Plus. Supports condition and metabolism during the moult, provides extra energy and stimulates the appetite.
